The Lake Ridge Academy in North Ridgeville, Ohio is a nonsectarian, independent school that was founded in 1963. The school offers classes for children in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. North Ridgeville is located on the west side of Cleveland, and the school is one of the only independent schools in the area.

The team qualified for the state competition and finished in a high position at the end of the competition. He values the education that he received at Lake Ridge because he knows the school had the resources to provide him a quality and unique educational experiences that many other schools could not have done.


Tips For Young Baseball Players Playing Outfield

Playing outfield in baseball can be difficult for kids because it can get boring at times. It is still an important position, and although you may not have as much to do as the infielders, you could have a greater impact on the game at times. Here are a few tips for youth baseball players to remember while playing in the outfield.

  • The worst thing that an outfielder can do is losing focus. You need to be prepared at all times and expect the ball to come to you. A great way to stay focused on the game as a kid is by interacting with your teammates. This can include shouting how many outs there are, get your teammates focused, and remind them where the runners are and where they are going.
  • Your first move, when a ball is hit, will dictate your ability to make a play or not. You need to be able to react quickly and accurately. Your first step should always be behind you because it is easier to make up the ground ahead of you than it is behind you. You will have a fraction of a second to react, and you will need to make some intelligent decisions quickly.
  • Trust your judgment and use it because you are the last line of defense. The past way to get to the ball is via a diagonal run. You do not want the ball to get past you because this means extra bases and possibly runs. Use your judgment based on what you believe will allow you to make the required play.

Pitching is the most difficult skill to master in baseball. You need to maintain good velocity, control, power, and location of the ball at once. Additionally, you need to control mental aspects of the game and make sure that the surrounding noise does not distract you. You cannot get down on yourself if things go wrong. Otherwise, you will continue to make mistakes. Essentially, pitching is just as much about skill as it is about controlling your mind.   • Leg strength is incredibly important for all pitchers. The stronger your legs are, the more velocity you will be able to generate and the more pitches you will be able to throw in a game. Having big legs is not the same as having strong legs. Work on your leg strength and your pitching will improve.
  • For pitchers looking to increase their arm strength, they should focus on doing long toss and light dumbbell exercises. The most important of these exercises is probably the long toss because it strengthens your arm and also familiarizes your muscles with the tossing motion. Make sure that you do these exercises in a controlled environment and don’t overwork yourself.
  • The best type of pitch to have in your arsenal is the change-up. Always practice your change-up and keep it sharp. You should always throw the change-up for a strike and never off the plate. You want the movement of the ball and the speed of your arm to throw the hitter off.
